A BIT OF BACKGROUND

Accidental is a hybrid in-person and online venue as well as a media creation charity. Our mission is to support the jobs and livelihoods of local artists, foster the arts in our diverse community, and create opportunities that celebrate the contemporary diversity of Belfast. By embracing digital technology, we’re working to future-proof the arts sector and attract both local and international audiences to our vibrant city.

At the core of our venue is a custom live-streaming system operated by a dedicated team with over 20 years of combined experience in live streaming and event production. Beyond technical expertise, we bring a theatrical and artistic perspective to every project, planning with the goal of maximising impact for our clients. Our productions include livestreams, promotional videos, conferences, and awards events with esteemed organisations, such as Queen’s University Belfast, University Ulster, the Out to Lunch Festival, the Four Corners Festival, EastSide Arts, and many more.

- OUTLINE OF PROJECTS

We want to partner with businesses to help them deliver against their values. We have three primary areas available for partnership;
1) Diversity, Equality & Inclusion (DEI)
2) Support the Next Generation
3) Digital Support, (Branding / Attraction & Recruitment / Showcasing Your Impact)

1) DEI: Across Cultures Project

If you are looking to support DEI, you might want to align yourself with a project that actively supports this cause on your doorstep.

Our ‘Across Cultures’ Project creates opportunities for artists from diverse backgrounds to access the same support as traditional communities, whilst bringing the city together to celebrate diversity. Our Cultural Nights programme comprises 8 Cultural Nights events across the year, featuring artists from different communities. These events would be accessible online as well as in-person thus increasing reach (and impact) across the city, and beyond.

As a partner, you will be directly supporting artists from diverse communities, enhancing the city’s cultural offer and artistic landscape and promoting inclusivity. This partnership allows you to unite communities and play your part in creating to a more cohesive, welcoming, culturally vibrant city. In recognition of your support, you will receive brand visibility, co-branding opportunities, and prominent acknowledgment in all promotional materials, such as “YOUR COMPANY NAME Cultural Nights.”

This partnership not only aligns you with an inclusive project but positions you as a leader in cultural enrichment, social justice, and equality. With an increasing emphasis on equality and diversity, this collaboration is both timely and impactful—enabling partners to take a leading role in fostering inclusivity and community at a foundational stage.

2) Support the Next Generation: Emerging Artist Development & Future Proofing the Industry

If you share our commitment to supporting the next generation, there are two key ways to get involved; supporting the artist or the technology.

The arts sector in Northern Ireland has faced chronic underfunding these past decades, with per capita funding averaging just £5.38 compared to Ireland’s £28.52 (ACNI, 2021). This disparity limits emerging artists hugely, who without support, struggle to hire spaces to develop work, pay for performance venues to bring work to audiences, hire performers, etc. This underfunding leads to missed opportunities to develop local artistic talent in the city, resulting in fewer cultural events for residents, reduced cultural experiences for visitors, and opportunities for vital ambassadors of our city being lost.

As a partner you could provide performance or rehearsal space across the year, raising your brand’s profile as a champion of emerging talent in the city, e.g. “Your Company Name Rehearsal Rooms for Emerging Artists.”

Or perhaps, you would like to support our Artists Development Programme by getting behind five emerging artists across the year, which would enable them to access a mentorship support and profile-building programme which would culminate in a showcase featuring all five artists. This is a unique chance to support promising talent as a headline partner: “Your Company Name Cosmic Five”

As a partner, there’ll also be co-branding opportunities, and acknowledgment in all promotional materials.

We regard digital innovation as a vital pathway to future-proof the industry. By leading in digital solutions, we’re empowering artists in smaller regions to make a livelihood beyond their immediate location by ensuring their work is accessible to a global audience.

By championing these artists—or the technology that supports them to help future-proof the industry — you can help break the cycle of underfunding and be part of the solution that helps bring new life to the arts sector in your city.

3) Digital Support: Branding / Attraction & Recruitment of Staff / Showcasing Your Impact

At Accidental, we have a custom-built live streaming system operated by a dedicated streaming and event team with over 20 years of combined experience in live-streaming, event production, and video creation.

Whether you're looking to reach and attract the right talent for your organisation (a series of a day-in-the-life videos), or reshape perceptions of your industry for younger employees, or even showcase charitable work you’ve done but lack the resources to capture it effectively—we’re here to help. We can work with you to create high-quality videos to support recruitment or elevate your profile within the community.

As a partner, you’ll receive a tailored series of videos designed for your website, social media, or any platform that best serves your needs. With powerful video content, you’ll boost your brand visibility both within and beyond Northern Ireland, enhancing your brand’s reputation on a broader scale.
